Agent X core engine deployed for offline trial at a large North China steelmaker

The offline, non-integrated version of the engine behind SIC™ BF Smart Agent X is deployed at a large steelmaker in North China, where engineers use it to explore operating changes before trying them on the furnace.

In 2025, the offline version of the engine behind SIC™ BF Smart Agent X was demonstrated to the ironmaking team of a large steelmaker in North China and deployed on site, where it is now in offline trial.

This version runs without live plant integration. It contains the core of the product: the physics-constrained mechanism-model database and the in-furnace visualisation and analysis built on it.

How the plant uses it

  • See inside the furnace. Engineers select the operating conditions they want to study and view the cohesive zone, gas flow and temperature field that no sensor can measure.
  • Compare before acting. Alternative burden and charging options are compared side by side, so a change can be judged in the model before it is tried on the furnace.
  • Support technical discussion. Process engineers use the results for offline studies and to discuss operating strategy with the team.

What it shows

The physics-constrained core of Agent X is running in an operational industrial environment, in the hands of plant engineers rather than researchers. That is the foundation for the next stage: connecting it to live plant data and existing systems through our enterprise integration work.
