Introducing SIC™ BF Smart Agent X
Our commercial platform brings physics-constrained AI to the blast furnace — predicting what cannot be measured inside, and recommending quantified low-carbon operating changes.

Steelmakers have to cut emissions on the blast furnaces they already run — by changing ore sources and blends (including moving to Australian ores), injecting hydrogen-rich gas or coke-oven gas, and lowering fuel rate. Every one of those changes alters a process that no one can see inside. Today, that leaves plants to trial and error on assets worth hundreds of millions.
SIC™ BF Smart Agent X is built to change that.
What it is
Agent X is a physics-constrained AI agent. It takes the operating data a plant already records and predicts the in-furnace states that cannot be measured: gas flow and temperature fields, the thermal reserve zone, the shape and position of the cohesive zone, and raceway conditions. It then evaluates low-carbon operating strategies and reports their expected effect with numbers.
Why physics-constrained
Agent X is built on a mechanism-model database derived from CFD models of the whole furnace, from top charging to hearth drainage. The AI works inside those physical constraints, so its predictions respect heat, mass and momentum balance. Engineers get a model they can question — not another black box.
Built on two decades of research
The models behind Agent X come from more than 20 years of blast-furnace research and over 200 peer-reviewed publications, developed with a leading blast-furnace research team, SCoPE Lab for Green Metal. Agent X is the commercial, industry-ready successor to that work.
